THIS is why i'm not snoopy. well, not this in particular. but i'm weird in that i just don't want to snoop. never as a kid - i'd be SO disappointed if i even accidentally found my christmas presents. and the bad stuff - i'm always scared of finding out stuff i don't want to know. i had an ex boyfriend's journal for over 3 months after he moved away (i somehow ended up with boxes of his stuff - including some nasty porn - but that's another, somewhat entertaining story that i will blog about some other time) and i did not peek once. not even once.
it's not that i'm some kind of saint. it's because i like to live my own reality that usually doesn't jive with actual reality, and my little world is so much more fun.
*and i wave helllooooooooo to a. *

the geek inside of me is really impressed by this. it's a really great idea for producing energy out of wind but is it feasible? not sure. but i'm glad that people out there are so much smarter than me and figure this shit out.

yes. i've been away. i spent the past week in one of the many fan-fucking-tastic parts of BC - the east kootenays. under the premise of "work", my colleagues and i headed out for a few days to st. eugene mission - an awesome resort (but with terrible service) that was created by the area first nations from what was once a residential school. so, from a painful past came a bright future. with a kick ass steam room.
we had a great dinner in kimberley - mmmmmmmmmm schnitzel (yes. it's veal. BABY COW TASTES GREAT damn it. it's a once a year treat. i know. i'm a bad person.) we had some good times, some awesome days out in the wilds of the east koots, and great company. i love my girlie coworkers especially. they're the best.

thursday we headed up to windermere, where my boss has a cabin. along the way we HAD to hit lussier hot springs, my favorites in that area. totally hot, totally stinky and totally natural, they were an awesome way to end our day.
*no picture. sorry. no bathing suit pictures allowed. plus, there were some coworkers in their ginchies. (shudder)*
then we hit the cabin - which is awesome. up on the mountainside, we had this incredible view of the rockies and windermere lake.

friday morning we got up to a gorgeous day, had some coffee, a big breaky, then packed a lunch and hiked up pedley pass. we had snow from the start so it was a bit harder than "normal". at the point where i suspected i just may die, i thought about how awesome it was going to be at the top. when we got there, we had a wicked lunch on this little snow-free patch of alpine grassland then made our way down. i was not disappointed - it was amazing.
after a beer on the balcony, we headed to radium hot springs to soak our chilly bodies and bond like only being in swimsuits with your coworkers can bond you. a big shout out to the excellent maxine, the front desk woman who convinced one of my work buddies to rent a "historic" suit at no charge. she even watched out the window and gave the thumbs up - coworker i. got a rousing round of applause from us ladies when he ventured out. seriously awesome.

today we headed home, killing several hours playing games like "death is not an option", giving someone the option of sleeping with one of two people - no matter how revolting. at one point we somehow switched to same-sex lovers. i. gave me the choice between kate winslet and scarlett johannsen. kate won hands down. goddamn j. gave me a choice between an old dude director and our boss. i may need therapy. good times.
now i'm home and bagged. but i think i'm going to hit the pool and have a hottub - it's not an outdoor hotspring but it'll have to do the trick.
