canadian's don't all get medical for free. i pay $54 a month for basic medical care in BC (many provinces are less or free) and share the cost of my extended benefits with my employer (so about $40 a month). but families don't pay a whole lot more than i do - you get kind of fucked as a single person but hey, at least i can get an MRI to rule out a genetic condition that my aunt in idaho can't afford, because it will cost her $15G. she just has to take her chances.

but i have to say, i don't advocate marrying a canadian for the health care. that's bullshit. our system works but abusing it isn't the answer.

oh, and holy shit did i want to punch the adult child of the couple that had to move into their daughter's basement because they lost everything to pay for their health care costs. his comment about "what about OUR costs to move you?" fucking little selfish bastard. i bet she rues the day she pushed him out of her ute.

when my grandfather was dying, there was a woman in the room next to him. about 34, she was severely disabled. this was because her husband choked her into unconsciousness then left on a 4 day drinking binge before calling 911, and she had been in a vegetative state ever since (about 5 years). she died 3 years after i saw her. her husband went to jail.

this guy in the town i went to university in kidnapped two little girls, took them to a gravel pit and sexually assaulted both of them. he went to jail.

guess who served the longest sentence of all three of these criminals?

the who committed murder out of the love and compassion he felt for the one person he loved most in the world.

i'm not saying he was right or wrong. but our system is fucked.

i have a friend that works up at the village. tomorrow is his last day. i got my skis, bindings and a pair of goggles for cost.

it was between these (the my spice) and these others i really liked that were super fun skis, but they were $100 more. so i thought - do i like them $100 better? i decided for the amount i ski (which isn't all that often), no. even though they were cute and had butterflies on them. girrrrrrrlie. but these are pretty girlie too. i like them.

store cost? $700. tasha's cost? $300. sweet-ass.

oh man. now i'm a spice girl.
