depends on who i'm talking to. if it's my friend clare, i give it a 12. she tells me awesome stuff like how she gave her boyfriend a treat under the table at a wedding - and got busted. she always has awesome stories.

at work, not much. i tune out. read emails. it's a bad habit.

my mom - sometimes. i didn't like talking to her tonight - i had done nearly all of my taxes while i was home (she buys the software to do my sister's and some other people's taxes, so i use it to do mine) and had to add one thing that i hadn't received yet. i called to give it to her and she goes through my entire return, line by line, reading it out loud. she does this every year. i say "I DON'T CARE. just add the thing and tell me my return" and she gets mad and we get huffy and hang up. 10 minutes later she calls me back to tell me how cold it is and that i'm getting $550 back. i need to get more RRSPs.

i fucking hate talking to people who have little kids. every two seconds, as you're telling them about how drunk you got last weekend they're going "don't touch that! what does mommy say?" "mommy's on the phone" "*insertlazyhusbandnamehere*! can you get *brattykidname* a drink please? i'm on the phone! oh yeah? well i take care of him/her EVERY DAY and all i ask is for you to get ONE DRINK while i'm on the phone! oh, sorry about that. it's so *insert rant about shitty husbands/sexless marriages/bratty kids here*".

the last one i donated to was the peuan street kids project. i could have donated to a billion things in laos and cambodia in particular. i guess i also donated to ducks unlimited canada as i dropped $20 on raffle tickets at the last fundraising dinner i went to. shit, i won $50 in MARY KAY. win.
