Apr 29, 10:35am: today is amber's last day. so, to distract myself from the impending sadness that will come tomorrow when i take her to the airport to fly across the country to her new home, potential new job and lovely boyfriend, i'll tell you a story instead of work.

i was just responding to my awesome review by kish-me and explained how i really injured myself in the picture she posted. huh - i just searched through my postings and can't find the story, i thought i had blogged it. basically i was shovelling snow at the cabin, to the neighbor's cabin, was doing the neighbor's deck when i took a biiiiiiiiiiiiig step backwards into deep snow and off of the deck, grabbed the aluminum siding as i fell and sliced my finger. i was stuck in the snow, bleeding like crazy and the dogs were licking my face. i was super calm, my dad came over to take a look, and i was cool with the pouring blood but when i saw fat, FAT, i felt a little sick. anyway, 3 stitches, all's good. that's why i'm head to toe fleece. i'm not some goth eskimo.

but the BETTER story was the FIRST time i got stitches. it was 1995, the weekend before halloween. i was all dressed up (surprise surprise) as a viking princess. i had this wicked princess dress (lost in a move, boooooooo), looooooooong blonde braids and a viking hat. we had done many shots of tequila before going out and perhaps inhaled an herbal substance that may have altered my state of mind. i was dancing with this guy when all of a sudden, there was blood all over my hand. i said "ooooooooh GROSS. someone is BLEEDING on me." we looked up at the balcony above, didn't see anything. looked all around, didn't see anything, but my left hand was covered in blood. we both looked closer, i grabbed my hand with my OTHER hand, and suddenly blood squirted everywhere. the guy was like "oh god, go to the bathroomGOTOTHEBATHROOM!" and i was like "what the fuck? why am i bleeding?" so, i trotted off, followed by a bouncer who said i definitely needed to go to the hospital. so, off i go with the guy i was dancing with.

so here i sat, in the emergency room, bleeding like crazy, with massive cleave, long blonde pigtails and horns on my head. the doctor came in, i'm chatting like crazy about these being my first stitches and he's wiping away the blood. he asked me what i did, i said i had no idea, i was just suddenly bleeding. he inspected it for quite some time, then held his finger up to it.

you know what made me bleed?

a fingernail.

not my fingernail, i'm a biter.

someone ELSE's fingernail.

somehow, while i was dancing, someone gouged me hard enough with a fingernail to require 3 stitches, and i did not feel a thing. thanks, weed and tequila. we went back to the bar afterwards too.

i just don't understand how his wife had NO IDEA. seriously. she must have been a victim of some serious mind fuck as well. i'm curious as to how these people will adapt to life out of the basement.

in SE asia i got foot massages at least a couple of times a week - for $4, you can't go wrong.

that reminds me...time to book a pedicure.

oh, and i have ridiculously long toes. they're like fingers. i can pinch people and pull leg hair. it's my "i want you to wake up" torture. goes over really well.
