What level of responsibility do you have in your job?
today is not a good day to ask. sometimes, i say too much. like today. i craved more responsibility, which is why this job appealed to me. but sometimes, i don't want to have to think about anything else other than firing off a task and drinking tasty coffee while doing it. but my biggest bitch about my last job is that i had NO responsibility at all. some days i'd go out and buy toilet paper for the office because i had nothing to do and no real deadlines. 75% of my job could have been done by a robot and i hated that part. now sometimes i feel like i have too MUCH responsibility, and i'm far too immature for that kind of pressure.
so, i'll go out, get drunk and do something irresponsible tonight. ta da

i work with this guy i call "the douche". i am such a bitch to this guy. seriously, i know you all think i'm probably fucking sunshine and light (ha) but while i LOVES my lady coworkers, and quite like the others, this guy, i just can't deal.
and i'm mean to him.
and when i'm mean to him, he's nicer to me.
when i try to be nice to him, he's even more of a dick and i'm meaner to him and he's nicer to me.
YET
i'm the only one here he's invited to be a friend on facebook.
i think he must like it rough.
i might go vomit now.

i've been searching for the words to review magicdot for a while now. but last night as i was eating beef vindaloo it occurred to me: he's just like the taj.
the taj is this little restaurant in my town with possibly the best indian i've had so far. thing is, i didn't know the taj existed. my friends suggested it and i was like "hmmm, ok, i've never heard of it" and i went in (after walking by it twice without seeing it) and after gorging myself went HOLY SHIT. this is THE BEST indian food in town. some people came in and she hadn't cleared the other tables, and she said "go away and come back in 10 minutes. my tables aren't clean." she wasn't super friendly about it. but they came back, because they KNOW it's worth it.
is it new? no. it's been around for a while, a well kept, low-key secret. it has a small number of fans who are dedicated and totally awesome, but is surely growing.
just like magicdot.
or as i shall refer to him as now on: the taj.

from the page: "The 911 calls started flooding in last May. The caller responded to emergency operators with bodily noises, muttering and pressing beep tones."
i can't get the image of this guy farting into the phone outta my head. or the 911 operator on the other end.
this just made my friday.

you know what, i fucking LOVE these news bits from CNN. while i can't say i need to lose 120 pounds, i can say that i'm on a mission to become more fit and healthy, for lots of reasons, a huge part being a happy life, not to mention, you know, not dying young because i ate too many bags of chips. CNN posts one of these i think every week, and they're real people making real life changes losing weight in healthy, sustainable ways and i just find it really inspiring. i have loads of friends that spent the 2-3K on things like herbal magic and LA weight loss, just to see it creep back up there. i know of one girl who paid like, a thousand dollars to lose FIFTEEN POUNDS at one of those places.
so, this is not my usual type of post but for any of you out there who are attempting to make lifestyle changes for the healthier, these stories are seriously inspiring and uplifting. check them out.
