this morning on cbc, my dream nerdy radio boyfriend tod maffin was talking about emails and our inability to take back what we wrote after hitting send. how MANY times i wish i could do this, for many reasons. whether it's taking back that message to an ex boyfriend or an angry email to a current beau or an accidental personal email to the wrong person. once i sent a rather, um, personal email to a boyfriend - and somehow included a woman i barely know on the "to" list. she was very nice about it, claims she didn't get past the first line when she realized what it was and deleted it. a friend of mine once emailed me information on a contract i was taking over, and accidentally cc'd our boss. in the email she also talked about hooking up with a guy from toastmasters the night before, in great, explicit detail. she called our boss in a panic and asked him to please please please delete without opening. i wonder how many times i've done things like this and just never realized it. i never send really personal emails from work anymore after having one too many close calls with the autofill function.
