ok: the avatar.
my sister bought a pentax optio camera, waterproof, for her yearlong trip to australia/nz/thailand. she flew from her town to calgary to hang with her friends for a few days (she was 22) and on night 1 i got a frantic crying phone call, her camera was stolen! poor kid i thought. yeah, if by stolen you mean she got hammered and left it on the table at the bar and some thoughtless fucker got a new camera. anyway, i was meeting her in vancouver to take her to the airport, so i offered to pick her up a new camera (she got it from costco). so i bought it, brought it home, played with all the features (which she also knew would be a bonus of me picking it up - she would never know how to do more than turn it off and on, i promise you), took a picture (and locked it in) of a sheet that gave her name/address should it get "stolen" again.
anyway, one of the more hilarious features it had, besides a "scene" for just about any fucking thing you could imagine, were these photo frames. you could select them and every picture you would take would have this frame around it. there were hearts, and some flowery thing but this, this freaky animated "happy!" guy was my favorite. i also locked that photo in (knowing full well she will never figure out how to unlock and delete it) so she'd have my happy mug on her camera for an entire year.
PS the pentax optio is not waterproof, no matter what they say. her first time in water it filled up and that was that.
